Move along the floe, then dive. Left and right still steer while you are under the water. Press dive again under the water to come straight back up. Sardines, fat fish, and glow fish add to the score. A seal or a chunk of ice costs a heart. Timed pickups last ten seconds: a fishing rod, slow water, a magnet beak, or a double score. A new timed pickup replaces the one you have. An Extra Heart drops every 30 catches in a combo until combo 120, then every 60: x30, x60, x90, x120, x180, x240, and so on. Catch it to refill one heart. You start with 3 hearts and never hold more than 3, so a catch while you already have 3 adds 50 points instead of another heart. At x25 and above, fish spawn 15% faster and each fish's points are doubled. That bonus stays on only while the combo is x25 or higher. Press M to mute music and N to mute effects.
